Welcome to the October 2024 edition of our newsletter! Last month, we shared that September was gearing up to be a big month for the Federal Reserve. As widely anticipated, Jerome Powell announced a significant 50 basis point cut in interest rates—the first since March 2020. While there is much discussion about how this will impact deal activity in the upcoming months and shape the job market for 2025, it is unlikely that there will be a significant uptick right away, with expectations high for further cuts in the near future. As a result, outside of already ongoing searches, we expect to see some pause post Thanksgiving before a very active start to 2025. We'll keep you updated on these developments.
The big news in September was that GIP, BlackRock, Microsoft and MGX would join forces to launch a new $100Bn AI partnership investing in data centers and power infrastructure. This is just the latest headline in a sector that has seen its incredible growth continue in 2024, with Tenfold offering plenty of opportunities for investors and operators to play their part, including some of the openings outlined below.
As we move into Q4, firms are actively looking to fill headcount before the holiday season kicks in November, penciling in January start dates.
